    Re: Coaches at new schools?

A lot of people in Appy are upset enough over the closing of their school and from what I have been hearing lately, most of the people, at least the ones in any position of social stature, are totally against Turner getting it. They really want Austin to have it. Call this an educated guess if your want, but I am going to say Austin gets this over Turner even though he is the chosen one as you say. Besides, Travis is not tenured in the county system yet and Austin is. That, in and of itself, should account for something. Don't get me wrong, I could care less either way.

Lord I hope you're wrong about that one cdawg. I like Roger, but he's just not got the goods.

What about the rest of the sports?

    Basketball

JJK/Pound Im guessing TJ gets that one

PV/Appy - Hopefully Zack will be around. If Pat is even up for it, he should step aside.

Coeburn/St Paul - I have no clue on this one cause I dont know much about the St Paul coach.

    Re: Coaches at new schools?

Thats a good question about bball between Coeburn/St. Paul. Damron is a good young coach who has yet to get a team quite over the hump. Atkins has been around a long time, and had to step aside for a while at one time. I might would think they would go with Damron since he might be someone who could run the team for a longer term than Atkins might want to.

Baseball would be very similar in that school. Hubbard Jr. succeeded his father and has been associated with the Coeburn program for as long as I can remember. Chris Clay is a great guy who has done a good job after taking over St. Paul and brings a lot to the table. Clay would probably be my pick, although I think both know the game very well.

Tonight is when the principals propose to school board all facility including coaches. Anyone have any word on how it went down?
